Mendocino Maples Nursery has a guarantee policy for their plants. They ensure that the plants are true to name and in good health when they leave the nursery. If a tree looks stressed or unhealthy upon receiving, customers are advised to notify the nursery within two days. If the tree fails to do well within 30 days, the nursery will replace the same tree. However, trees that are purchased dormant and die over the winter are not covered in the guarantee.

The nursery does not cover plants injured by any factor outside their control, such as unseasonable weather, pest or disease damage, or improper care. Also, issues due to delays in shipping caused by weather, flight delays, Covid-19, or other shipping carrier situations that are beyond their control are not covered.

If a plant arrives damaged due to poor handling by UPS, customers are advised to contact Mendocino Maples Nursery immediately. They may ask for photographs of the plant damage, the shipping label, and the box. Depending on the situation, they may or may not ask customers to return the plant as a condition of receiving a replacement or refund.

As for returns, nursery stock cannot be returned without authorization. Once a tree has been removed from its original container, or has been planted, it cannot be returned. If trees are approved for return, a 25% restocking fee will be charged.
